IET-DAVV faculty develops smart-memory technology for hardware data security

Published Oct 02, 2026

Dr. Priyanka Gami of IET-DAVV’s Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering department has developed a Smart Memory architecture aimed at improving hardware-level data security. According to IET Times, the work has been published in an international journal and a patent application has been filed. The design has undergone simulation and FPGA-based laboratory validation and is intended to help protect sensitive data even when an attacker gains physical access to hardware. Potential applications include computing systems, industrial and medical electronics, defence, banking, cloud infrastructure and IoT devices.
