Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya has approved an expansion plan for IET that includes adding 11–12 smart classrooms and capacity for nearly 500 more students. Construction of two new floors on the IET building is expected to begin in January 2027 and finish within eight to nine months. With more than 2,500 students enrolled across 18 academic programmes, the expansion aims to ease classroom pressure and create a more technology-enabled learning environment. IET also plans to introduce additional engineering branches, increase intake in existing programmes, and explore industry-oriented diploma and certificate courses. IET Director Pratosh Bansal said the project will strengthen academic infrastructure for future requirements. Source: The Times of India (10 September 2026).
